Papo Pirate Barbarossa 39428

Papo Pirate Barbarossa gives children a character for bold seafaring stories. He can become the captain of an imagined crew, a treasure hunter on a remote island or a rival in a dramatic pirate adventure.

This plastic figure works as a starting point for open-ended play. Children can create a ship from a box, mark out an island with cushions and use other figures as crew members or opponents. The setting is theirs to decide, so one play session might focus on exploration while the next becomes a rescue mission.

Barbarossa can be placed at the centre of a story or used as one character among many. Children can decide what he wants, who he trusts and how the adventure unfolds. Making those choices supports imaginative thinking and encourages children to practise storytelling through action and conversation.

He is also a natural choice for a pirate figure collection. Adding more characters gives children fresh ways to arrange scenes, create friendships and invent rivalries. Adults can encourage the play with simple questions about the map, the destination or the treasure being sought.
