Papo Surgeon Fish 56024

The Papo Surgeon Fish adds a distinctive reef character to imaginative play. Children can guide it through an underwater world, place it among other sea animals or use it as part of a story about exploring coral habitats.

With its clearly named species, the figure gives children a natural prompt to learn that not all fish look alike. They can compare it with other figures in a collection, notice different shapes and invent their own explanation for where each animal is travelling.

Explore a make-believe reef

The surgeon fish might join an expedition beneath the waves, search for a safe place to rest or meet a new group of ocean creatures. A child can create a simple scene with a cloth, tray or blocks as the sea setting, then move the figure through the story as the action develops.

This kind of open-ended play leaves room for a child’s own ideas. Choosing characters, placing them in relation to one another and deciding what happens next support storytelling, imagination and careful hand movements. The figure can stand alone in a small scene or become part of a wider collection of marine animals.
