Schleich Battlecave Ice Rat 42676

The Schleich Battlecave Ice Rat brings a cold-climate challenge to imaginative play. Children can introduce this fantasy figure into battles, rescues and exploration stories, using it alongside other figures or as a rival guarding a hidden place.

Its role is open-ended, so the story can change from one play session to the next. The Ice Rat might defend an icy cave, surprise a group of explorers or join forces with another character when a bigger threat appears. Moving the figure around a play scene also gives children a simple way to act out journeys, confrontations and escapes.

Build stories around the Ice Rat

As children decide what the Ice Rat wants and how other characters should respond, they practise sequencing events and giving their stories a beginning, middle and ending. Battle play can also introduce ideas about teamwork, choices and changing sides without needing a fixed storyline.

The figure can become part of a wider Schleich fantasy collection, where different characters create new combinations of heroes, rivals and unexpected allies. It also gives children a chance to sort and compare figures as they develop their own imaginary world.
